Frequently Asked Questions

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Lauren Tabelin is a fully insured, accredited and Masters level (level 7) qualified veterinary physiotherapist.

Lauren is accredited to RAMP (The Register of Animal and Musculoskeletal Practitioners). All professionals registered with RAMP demonstrate high standards of proficiency and professionalism. Practitioners also declare their adherence to the code of conduct. Ramp registered practitioners must, work within their scope of practice, comply with annual CPD requirements and have appropriate insurance.  This register therefore offers veterinary surgeons (and owners!) the reassurance they need to safely refer to, an/or work closely with registered musculoskeletal practitioners.

If your animal is currently being treated by a vet for lameness or poor performance, veterinary consent is required. It is a legal requirement that all Veterinary Physiotherapists work with consent by the treating Veterinary Surgeon under The Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966.

Veterinary consent is not required for maintenance treatments if the animal is sound and healthy.

Most insurance companies do provide physiotherapy cover. We advise contacting your insurance provider before treatment to check what benefits are available, as some policies may vary.

Physiotherapy may be suggested by your veterinarian. Alternatively, you may notice behaviour, movement or performance changes which may be caused by an underlying musculoskeletal issue.

Animals are masters of masking their own pain but there may be signs such as...

- Changes in their gait pattern

- Unwillingness to move

- Reactive or submissive behaviour

- Inability to perform normal activities

- Drop in athletic performance

Animals need to be dry and clean, especially in the winter months! We recommend that horses take the following 24 hours off after their session to get the most out of their treatment , so please bear this in mind when booking in.

We require at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled visit may be subject to a cancellation fee.
